THE ART LAB EXPERIMENTS ……………………………ON ONE OF ITS OWN
Let’s say we take a mid- career artist who cherishes straight lines, perfect surfaces, masterful crafted textures & decisive blended colors. A guy who is the President of TAC, an OVAC board member, has exhibited at AHHA, IOA, DAC, and the PAC (and clearly has no phobia of anacronyms) . A father, a husband, and an artist’s artist.
We give him a martini. Oh, and blindfold him.
He is compelled to paint.
With various mark making & painting tools, too silly to mention. ok. I’ll mention a few: mops, flip flops, and maybe a banana?
another martini. Paint. REPEAT
What will happen when a painter paints “without the restraint of the eye”?
Well, we can get all “artsy fartsy” analytical about the psychological implications or the emotional source of line and form or whether an artist informs his drawing from the conscious or subconscious….
OR just enjoy a cocktail and a sound track to paint by with DEAN WYATT at Urban Art Lab Studios as we experience the experiment. 11.11.17 Saturday 4-6 pm
COCKTAILS (not as “in dress" but as “in hand) RSVP firstname.lastname@example.org.
