For years I painted in watercolor, sometimes adding pen and ink. When I wanted a louder voice than I felt possible with watercolor, I moved on to more intense pigments of acrylic paint. A workshop several years ago ignited my interest in stitching and combinations of fiber texture and paint.
I often start a painting with mark making on canvas and develop with color and shape. From there, I let the paint express my feeling, which leads to an intimate relationship with each work without a preconceived goal. The painting takes me on a ride while the color palate defines the emotion I am attempting to convey.
I like lots of color. My painting frees me of inhibitions in structure and conformity.
